Meta Business Suite Basics: Schedule a Week of Posts in One Hour

Use Meta's free tool to plan and schedule Facebook and Instagram posts in advance, so your Page stays active on busy days.

Most owners post when they remember, which usually means in a rush between customers, or not at all during the busiest weeks. Scheduling solves this: you prepare posts once, in a quiet hour, and they go out on their own at the right time.

Meta Business Suite is Meta's free tool for managing a Facebook Page and a connected Instagram account. Its menus change from time to time, but the core ideas stay the same. Here is how to use it for scheduling without getting lost.

What Meta Business Suite is for

Think of it as a control panel for your Page. In one place you can usually:

  • Create posts and stories for Facebook and Instagram.
  • Schedule them for a specific date and time.
  • See all planned posts in a calendar or list.
  • Answer messages and comments from both platforms.
  • Look at basic insights: reach, engagement, followers.

It works in a web browser on a computer and through a mobile app. For planning a week, the computer is more comfortable.

Before you start: connect your accounts

To post to both platforms from one place, your Instagram professional account needs to be linked to your Facebook Page. If you have not done it yet, follow our step-by-step guide on how to connect Facebook and Instagram. You also need admin or similar full access to the Page.

Prepare your content first

Scheduling is fast when the materials are ready. Before you open the tool, collect:

  • Five to seven photos or short videos for the week. Good light, clean background, vertical for videos.
  • Captions written in a notes app: the main message, the price, how to order or book.
  • A plan: which post on which day. For example, a product on Monday, behind the scenes on Wednesday, an offer on Friday.

If you are not sure what to post, use our list of post ideas for local businesses.

Schedule a post step by step

The exact buttons may look different on your screen, but the process is the same:

  1. Open Meta Business Suite and choose to create a post.
  2. Select where it should appear: your Facebook Page, your Instagram account, or both.
  3. Upload the photo or video and write the caption. You can often adjust the text separately for each platform, for example longer on Facebook and shorter on Instagram.
  4. Check the preview for both platforms. Look at the crop on the image.
  5. Instead of publishing now, choose the option to schedule, and pick the date and time.
  6. Confirm. The post now appears in your planner or calendar.

Repeat for each post. After the first two or three, it takes only a few minutes each.

Choose good times

Your insights will eventually show when your followers are online. Until then, start with times when people in Georgia usually check their phones: around lunch and in the evening after work. For a café, late morning works for lunch offers. For a bar or restaurant, early evening is better for dinner plans. Test for a few weeks and adjust.

Check and adjust the calendar

Once a week, open the planner view and look at the coming days:

  • Are there gaps of several days without posts?
  • Are two similar posts scheduled next to each other?
  • Is anything outdated, for example a product that sold out or a changed price?
  • Do any planned posts clash with a holiday, when you may be closed or want a festive post instead?

You can usually edit, reschedule or delete a planned post before it goes live.

Limits of doing it yourself

Meta Business Suite handles the scheduling, but it does not write captions, take photos or plan your topics. That part still takes time every week. Many owners start well and then stop after a month, when the busy season arrives.

If that sounds familiar, a service like SocialAI can prepare the posts for you, with text and images, and publish them on a schedule you choose. You still see every post in your panel 48 hours ahead and can edit or skip it. Plans are listed on our pricing section.

Start this week

  1. Make sure your Facebook Page and Instagram account are connected.
  2. Block one hour in your calendar, for example Sunday evening.
  3. Prepare five photos and five short captions.
  4. Schedule them across the week at lunch or evening times.
  5. Next Sunday, check the insights and plan the following week.
